About
Briana Gonzalez, LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I am a licensed clinical social worker serving persons in the state of California via Telehealth (online) sessions. I have been working in the mental health field for 9 years in a variety of different settings, including inpatient mental health, schools, sexual assault and domestic violence clinic, and community mental health agencies, while having clinical therapy experience for 5 years. As a trauma survivor myself, I understand the importance of being heard, understanding the hurts that happened and how it has been impactful, and identifying the needs to create the life desired to live to move forward in hope; this personal understanding drives my passion to help others be empowered to create a fulfilling life after experiencing hopelessness.
Treatment Approach
As your therapist, it is my priority to create a therapeutic atmosphere that promotes safety, trust, empowerment, growth and positive change for you.
My approach will depend on your needs and personal goals. Additionally, I am collaborative with my clients and upon working together, will inquire about what approaches you believes works best for you, as you know yourself the most. I fully believe that personal empowerment comes along with understanding your hurts needs.
In my practice, I utilize a variety of approaches including Cognitive/Cognitive-Behavioral, Attachment, Psychodynamic, and Psychoeducational. I will work with you to create a treatment plan that is customized to meet your unique circumstances.
Treatment plans will utilize a foundation of biopsychosocial assessment, in which I assess your needs not only based on your symptoms and reason for coming to therapy, but also take into account your overall health history, relationship with others, and how other systems within your life may be affecting your well-being. After we compete your initial therapy assessment, we collaborate to move toward a tailored treatment plan and approach that includes tools to help sustain the growth experienced in regular therapy.
